Ms.Hutson's class is currently studying:  Forces & the Scientific Method

What we've been learning...

Students can describe how gravity, inertia, friction and Newton's laws affect motion.  We are currently working on our WORKSAMPLE where students perform a science experiment to determine how mass and force affect the speed of their balloon car.  Students will document their inquiry process on Google Docs by writing an intro, procedures, data table, graph and conclusion.  Students need to get all 4's to meet the 8th grade benchmark.

Semester 1 Curriculum Covered:

September
Rules/Procedures/Expectations, Metric system, Measurement (length)

October
Manipulating equations, Speed, Velocity, Acceleration, Friction:  Sliding, Fluid, Rolling & Static

November
Force, Gravity, Inertia, Newton's Laws

December
Newton's Laws & Scientific Inquiry/Worksample on how force & mass affect the speed of a balloon car.

Strive for empowerment.
What knowledge and skills will help you grow into the person you want to be?
