Safety Town is a day camp for children going into kindergarten or first grade. Safety Town students focus on learning safety concepts. Community members and staff teach the students about fire safety, bike safety, poison safety, stranger danger, bus safety, pool safety, boat safety, animal safety, railroad safety, and electrical safety through presentations and art projects. New Orleans – March 2, 2017 – Matthew Utterback, Superintendent of North Clackamas Schools in Milwaukie, Ore., has been named the 2017 AASA National Superintendent of the Year. “It’s an incredible honor to represent our school district in the state of Oregon at the national level,” said Utterback as the 2017 AASA National Superintendent of the Year finalist. “The National Superintendent of the Year has an opportunity to share stories, to share learning (and) to share the good work that is happening in public schools across our country.” Congratulations Matt, on this well deserved honor!
