Backpack Buddies
 
This volunteer-run program provides nutritious weekend food packages for children in need.  The growing effort serves more than 800 students in 23 Head Start, elementary, and middle schools. 
 
The nonprofit North Clackamas Education Foundation will accept cash donations for the Backpack Buddy program. Send them to PO Box 595. Clackamas OR, 97015, Attn: Ami Margolin Rome, C/o Backpack Buddy program. A donation of $3.25 will feed one child for one weekend.  A $125 donation will feed a child every weekend during a school year.

Needed donations:
Granola bars
Peanut butter
Fruit cups
Pull tab/pop top cans of noodles, protein
Cans of protein (meat, chili)
Peanut butter or cheese crackers
Small boxes of raisins
Juice boxes
Apple sauce – peel foil
Trail mix, nuts, in pouches
Fruit—apples, oranges
Cans of hearty soup
