Oak Grove is a wonderful school. It is filled with dedicated and talented teachers and staff. Another essential element of this thriving school community are the volunteers.
The PTO meets most months on the first Thursday, 6:30-7:30 pm in the Library. Babysitting is provided. We hope to see you there!
PTO's mission is three-fold:
1. Provide VOLUNTEERS for classrooms and the school
Volunteers are important in our school. The PTO assists in identifying volunteers willing to help in the classroom, around the school, and at PTO-sponsored community events at Oak Grove Elementary. Take time to volunteer.
2. RAISE MONEY for school programs and equipment
Our PTO has raised money for playground equipment, field trips, field trip buses, school assemblies, supplies for the school Nurse, computer and digital equipment, musical instruments, die cut machine and die cuts, school supplies, Reading is Fundamental (RIF), and other items or programs that enhance our school’s educational programs. We raise money through a variety of PTO fundraisers held throughout the year. Information about our school’s fundraisers will be sent home with your child through the year.
3. SPONSOR school/community EVENTS
The PTO sponsors school/community events each school year (the Harvest Festival in the fall; the Carnival in the spring; Field Day at the end of school.) These events provide Oak Grove students, parents, and neighbors an opportunity to become better acquainted and to socialize together.
