What is CAFE?
CAFE is an afterschool program at Whitcomb Elementary featuring classes that range from hula dancing to sports to raising salmon to chess. It stands for "Children and Family Enrichment" and it is run by Metropolitan Family Service. Students from grades 1-5 can participate. Their goal is to create strong ties in the community and to help children to be successful academically and in life. It is a well organized and wonderful program that offers students the opportunity to pursue their interests, become involved with other students of all ages, and get help with homework. Transportation and a healthy snack are provided.
