New Urban High School and the North Clackamas School District offers a wide range of special education programs and services. Students who qualify for special education services receive an educational program and support services based on their individual needs, with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) developed for each student. Programs and services are provided to students beginning at birth through completion of a secondary education program or age 21.
If parents believe their child may have a disability, or if parents are concerned about their child's progress, they should talk with their child's teacher, principal or school social worker. Parents may request that an evaluation be done to determine whether their child has a disability that could be addressed with special education services. Requests should be made in writing and given to the school principal. For general questions about special education or for advocacy services, call Leslie Knowlton at 503.353.5935 Ext. 33323.
