As the school district moves forward to implement a bold, new education plan, we are excited to introduce a new logo for North Clackamas Schools.

 

The compass is a metaphor for discovery and progress toward a goal.  We can teach students how to use a tool, but each person must use that tool to find his or her own way.  Today's students need solid skills in reasoning, problem-solving, and innovation to succeed in our rapidly-changing world.   

 

The compass is a symbol of exploration and perseverance, with ties to explorers in Oregon history.  Like the American Indians, Lewis & Clark, and the Oregon Trail pioneers,  North Clackamas students will blaze new trails into the future. North is in our name, and North is the direction used to "true" a compass to navigate, symbolizing clear guidance.

 

To introduce the new logo, the North Clackamas Education Foundation is exploring the possibility of selling items that feature the new look as a way of raising funds for schools.  To ensure that we offer products that appeal, we are seeking input from the community.  Examples of the new logo appear below.  Please look them over, and respond to the survey below to share your input.
