Clackamas High School Counseling Department

Primary Goal: To provide the guidance, counseling, and support necessary for students to be successful in the academic, social/personal, and career planning areas of their lives.

Student counseling services are concerned with:

  1. Personal/Crisis counseling.
  2. Assisting every student in planning a four-year program of studies.
  3. Providing career education planning and assistance.
  4. Student testing and interpretation.
  5. Providing information about post high school opportunities.
  6. Helping students make decisions.

Each student is assigned a counselor who meets with the student when appropriate throughout the school year. Students are invited to see their counselor or any member of the counseling staff whenever they need assistance.

Parents are encouraged to check regularly with teachers and contact counselors for further assistance concerning their sons or daughters. Conferences with students, parents, teachers, and counselors are often helpful in giving information, in planning and in formulating goals.
