Milwaukie High is an OUTSTANDING school!  Our students, parents, staff and community believe that we are “kind of a big deal”.  This is a slogan on a back of a t-shirt that says Milwaukie Mustangs on the front.  We are a “big deal” in the view of the Oregon Department of Education as Milwaukie High has been rated an OUTSTANDING school for the second consecutive year.  This rating is based upon an increase in achievement on state assessments, increase attendance and graduation rates.

The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development(ASCD) has named Milwaukie High as the 2013 Vision in Action: The Whole Child Award winnerASCD is the global leader in developing and delivering innovative programs, products, and services that empower educators to support the success of each learner. Comprising 140,000 members—superintendents, principals, teachers, professors, and advocates from more than 134 countries—the ASCD community also includes 56 affiliate organizations. The nonprofit's diverse, nonpartisan membership is its greatest strength, projecting a powerful, unified voice to decision makers around the world.

Below is the Vision and Mission of the Milwaukie High Staff:

Vision:  Each student engaged in literacy, inspired by their cultural diversity, and ready for active citizenship.

Mission:  We personally and professionally believe that each student deserves to be:

Engaged to Learn Strong: to read, write, speak and listen with purpose and power.

Inspired by the years of tradition and the diverse talents of their community.

Ready with the skills and knowledge to become leaders and designers of the future.

We are proud of our school and community.  Mustangs are the first to pitch in to help those in need, honor our heroes and strive for success in every endeavor we enter.

I welcome you to come see our students perform in our theater, demonstrate art work and compete athletically during the year.  Please check our calendars for events.
