SSC Noteworthy News Fall 2010...

Sabin-Schellenberg Center Business and Management DECA students host the 4th Annual Holiday Bazaar November 20, 2010 9AM-5PM

Need last-minute gift ideas? Come to the Sabin-Schellenberg Holiday Bazaar for food, gifts, and crafts to support the DECA business education program for high school students. The event will be held November 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the south campus of the Sabin-Schellenberg Center, located at 14450 SE Johnson Road in Milwaukie.

Many SSC programs are represented at the Bazaar, fundraising for student scholarships and compeititons. SSC Culinary students will be selling yummy baked goods and fresh brewed coffee drinks at their very own MudHut coffee stand, and Law Enforcement students will sell delicious burgers at lunch time. Come and see all the original handcrafts and unique gifts. You might just get a jump on your holiday shopping.


Culinary Arts program holds Pizza Cook-Off
During November, more than 300 culinary arts students will participate in developing their own original pizza recipes, part of the �Top That! Pizza Cook-Off,� a competition sponsored by Bob's Red Mill and Lisanatti Cheese - two local companies. The top six teams will present both a gluten-free, dairy-free pizza and a regular pizza, judged on taste, creativity, and presentation. Come watch the final round of the competition in December, held here in our school commons at 14450 SE Johnson Road. Admission is free.



SSC forestry program offers firewood for sale
As the fall days turn chilly, high school students from the Sabin-Schellenberg Center�s forestry program are holding a firewood sale, with proceeds to benefit the school

Seasoned wood of mixed species is available for $120 per cord, $65 per half cord, with a two cord maximum per customer. Wood can be purchased on school days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from the east end of Camp Withycombe, located at 102nd and Clackamas Road.

Wood purchasers can leave a truck or trailer in the morning, and students will fill it for pickup at a later time.
