Determining the Future Use of Concord - Phase II
On May 14, 2015 the School Board took action to invest up to 23 months (March 2017) to determine the future use of Concord Elementary School. District staff are continuing to have discussions with other organizations and are allowing time for groups to organize and develop plans.
At the same time, the Concord Partnership is working with Restore Oregon on obtaining grants to complete a feasibility study. They hope to pursue hiring a professional consultant to conduct a feasibility study of multiple alternatives for repurposing the historic Concord Elementary School. The feasibility study will provide information for presentation to the North Clackamas School District and other interested parties who are involved in the public process leading to decisions on future ownership and use of the Concord property. The study will address the costs, benefits, and financial feasibility of future use alternatives.
Concord Partnership's Tentative Feasibility Study Timeline:
April 4, 2016 - Consultant proposals due
April 18, 2016 - Contract award
May 9, 2016 - Contract signed
July 8, 2016 - Draft report due
July 22, 2016 - Draft report comments due
Aug. 5, 2016 - Final report due
At this time, there is no timeline for district staff to return to the school board with a proposed process or recommendation. When the future of Concord topic does come to the school board, the Board will have at least two public meetings and invite public input before making any decision related to the future use of Concord.
