NAMI OFFERS FREE CLASS FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN & TEENS WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES Posted: September 17th, 2012 8:44 AM Families with a child or teen facing health issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, or bipolar disorder can find help and support through a free class offered this fall by the National Alliance on Mental Illness. The free class will be offered Thursday evenings for six weeks, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. October 4 through November 8 at a site near the West Linn Public Library. Course materials and light snacks will be provided free of charge. To register, call 503-344-5050. Topics covered in the class include the family trauma of mental illness, diagnosis, the latest research, treatment options, the impact on family members, record keeping and systems of care.
