Welcome to Elementary Programs
The purpose of Elementary Programs is to ensure consistent, high quality, and equitable educational programming for all K-5 students in North Clackamas School District. Administrators in the department work closely with building administrators to communicate and implement key initiatives and provide support and guidance related to core content areas (Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Social Emotional Learning, and the Arts), specialized instructional programs (e.g., Special Education, Title 1, and services for English Learners), operations, and district policies. We build capacity in administrators by providing professional development and conducting evaluations. The department works with schools, staff, and the community to problem solve when issues arise that impact members of the community and are not resolved at the classroom or building level.
North Clackamas School District (NCSD) is proud to offer our own preschool program at Oak Grove Elementary school. We are committed to providing a culturally affirming, inclusive, and research-based program with you and your children at the center. We also believe in an aligned approach with our elementary grades, and seek to create continuity from preschool into early elementary school. Welcome!
A Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) is a data-driven, problem-solving framework to improve outcomes for all students. MTSS relies on a continuum of evidence-based practices matched to student need; it encompasses academics, behavior and social-emotional learning. Here in North Clackamas we focus on four pillars for our K-5 MTSS work: Teaming, Data-Based Decision Making, Evidence-Based Instructional Practices, and Continuous Improvement.
