Important Information to Know

Kindergarten enrollment for the 2026-27 school year opens on January 30, 2026. *Oregon state law requires students to be age 5 on or before September 1st to enter Kindergarten.
 

 


NCSD Events Leading Up to the First Day of School

As your student prepares to enter Kindergarten, several events and opportunities available through the North Clackamas School District to make the transition as smooth as possible. Below are resources from the Oregon Department of Education that lists ways you can prepare your student for Kindergarten.

Kindergarten Registration Pop-Ups

Kindergarten registration events are held throughout the NCSD boundary area. This is not a mandatory event, but a great opportunity to ask questions, let your student explore a school bus, and get them excited for school in the fall.

Kindergarten Tours & Orientation

Spring 2026

During the spring, our elementary schools offer tours for incoming Kindergarten families. Please join us to meet the principal, tour the school campus and get to know your neighborhood school! The list of morning and afternoon tours will be posted in the spring.

Kindergarten Gradual Entry

(September 2026)

Gradual Entry is for all Kindergarten students who are enrolled in an NCSD elementary school. It is a time to help your student get familiar with the school and their teachers before they officially start school. During Gradual Entry, students will meet all the kindergarten teachers, specialists, and other students.
