Special Education Teacher (SLC) - Structured Learning Center

The Structured Learning Center (SLC) teacher is primarily responsible for effective teaching and learning of the assigned subject(s) following district approved curriculum, instruction and assessment practices.  As a special education teacher of a specialized program, the Structured Learning Center (SLC) classrooms work with students on functional academic skills with approximately a 3:1 student to adult ratio. Students are supported by visual communication tools, data based support plans, structured routines, and modified curriculum. Please know there are additional staff supporting alongside the teacher in this classroom. 

Requires a TSPC Teaching License with a Special Education: Generalist endorsement.

Special Education Teacher (TLC) - Transitional Learning Center

The Transitional Learning Center (TLC) teacher is primarily responsible for effective teaching and learning of the assigned subject(s) following district approved curriculum, instruction and assessment practices.  As a special education teacher of a specialized program, the Transitional Learning Center (TLC) classrooms work with students on social, emotional and behavioral skills with approximately a 4:1 student to staff ratio. Students are supported by a structured predictable schedule and data based behavior support plans. Please know there are additional staff supporting alongside the teacher in this classroom.

Requires a TSPC Teaching License with a Special Education: Generalist endorsement.

Learning Specialist - Resource Room

The Learning Specialist is primarily responsible for effective teaching and learning of the assigned subject(s) following district approved curriculum, instruction and assessment practices.  As a Learning Specialist, the employee may teach in a variety of elementary and/or secondary educational settings to include but not limited to life skills (Structured Learning Center- Academics), behavior development (Structured Learning Center- Behavior), communications, and learning Resource/Support. Primary responsibility shall include student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student’s readiness to learn including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare.    

Requires a TSPC Teaching License with a Special Education: Generalist endorsement.

School Psychologist

School Psychologist responsibilities shall include direct support and interventions to students, consultation with teachers and administrators, and leadership at assigned grade level schools to support special education processes and school wide practices and policies. Provides program leadership for student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student’s readiness to learn including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare. School Psychologists may work in a variety of elementary and/or secondary educational, individual or team settings. School psychologists are responsible for consultation and case management of the assigned school(s) portfolio of students on Individualized Education Program (IEPs).

Requires a TSPC Preliminary/Professional School Psychologist License

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) work in a variety of elementary and secondary school settings by focusing on helping students with a wide range of speech–language-related needs to meet performance standards. The work includes the use of evidence-based assessment and intervention practices in the prevention, assessment, intervention, and program design efforts that are integrated within a school. Employee may work in a variety of elementary and/or secondary educational, individual or team settings. Speech language pathologist may rotate among multiple schools.

Paraeducator II (SLC) - Structured Learning Center

The SLC Paraeducator performs a variety of instructional, training, and/or support duties to assist Special Education teachers in instruction, supervision, and education of students with severe physical and mental special needs that generally require placement in self-contained classrooms. The incumbent may also be assigned in one-on-one teacher-to-student situations when the students have needs similar to those of Structured Learning Center classrooms (e.g., physical disabilities requiring considerable support).
 

Paraeducator II (TLC) - Transitional Learning Center

*Background and experience working with children with social and emotional difficulties strongly preferred*

The TLC Paraeducator performs a variety of instructional, training, and/or support duties to assist Special Education teachers in instruction, supervision, and education of students with behavioral, social, and emotional difficulties that generally require placement in self-contained classrooms. 
 

Paraeducator ll - Behavior Team Support

*Background and experience working with children with social and emotional difficulties strongly preferred*

The Behavior Team Support Paraeducator provides specialized instructional, support, behavioral intervention, and training assistance to support Special Education teachers, Behavior Coaches and other paraeducators. This position focuses on supporting students with severe behavioral communication, and intellectual needs that typically cannot be accommodated within general education settings without individualized support. The incumbent may also be assigned to one-on-one student support situations when students present significant behavior, regulation and communication challenges. 

*This position will require travel to multiple program locations as needed and receives a 7.5% hourly pay differential.*

Paraeducator II - Adult Transition Program (ATP)

ATP Paraeducators support special education students with post graduation life and vocational skills as part of the Adult Transition Program (ATP).

CARE After School Program Inclusion Professional

CARE Program Inclusion Support Specialists assist children with identified accommodation needs to be safe and successful in CARE programs. Child needs might include behavioral difficulties, toileting needs, medical protocols, or other supports.  The incumbent may also be assigned in one-on-one, assistant-to child situations when the children have behavioral, emotional or physical disabilities requiring considerable support.
