College and University Partnerships

Interested colleges and universities should begin by completing the North Clackamas SD College/University Pre-Partnership Survey. The survey provides NCSD with information about your institution, educator preparation programs, anticipated placement needs, and other partnership opportunities.

Complete the Pre-Partnership Survey

Once the survey is submitted, the NCSD HR Placements Team will review the information provided, and work with your institution to establish the required three-year legal agreement. The agreement must be fully approved and executed by both NCSD and your college or university.

Once the agreement has been fully executed, the NCSD Human Resources Placements Team will confirm that your institution is an approved NCSD college/university partner and provide information and resources related to our placement process.

Once your partnership is established, we encourage your institution to stay connected with the NCSD HR Placements Team throughout the year. In addition to coordinating student teaching, practicum, and internship opportunities, partners are invited to share relevant program updates, scholarships, information sessions, recruitment events, and other opportunities that may benefit NCSD employees.

Our goal is to build ongoing, mutually beneficial partnerships that support your educator candidates, create meaningful field experiences within NCSD, and connect our employees with opportunities to continue learning and growing in their careers.
 

The placement coordinator from a partner college or university submits the 2026-2027 NCSD Candidate Placement Request Form via Smartsheet for each student seeking a district placement.
 

The district placement team reviews the submission, considers the program requirements and district capacity, and identifies a potential cooperating supervisor. 
 

If a potential match is identified, the district sends an official placement request with the candidate details to the prospective cooperating supervisor and placement coordinator. If a match cannot be identified, the placement coordinator is notified. 
 

The prospective cooperating supervisor connects with the candidate by phone or virtual meeting to discuss the placement and determine fit. Following that, the cooperating supervisor submits their placement decision to the district.
 

If the placement is accepted, NCSD will finalize the placement and send a confirmation email to all relevant parties. 
 

If the placement is declined, the NCSD Placement Team will attempt to identify another potential Cooperating Supervisor. If no alternative match is available, the Placement Coordinator will be notified.
