North Clackamas Substitutes

Throughout the year, NCSD has both Classified and Licensed Substitute opportunities. We offer competitive compensation and a no-charge lunch for in building substitutes. 

CLASSIFIED SUBSTITUTE RATES (2022-2023):

Range from $17.22 - $21.24 per hour

Types of Classified Substitute Positions include:

Administrative Assistants

Paraeducators (General Education OR Special Education)

Administrative Assistant (Secretary):

An Administrative Assistant is one who fills in for school secretary absences and performs a variety of school clerical or district office support duties. Duties may include front offer operations, reception activities, student attendance reporting, counseling services support, special education and/or district office or department support, and English language development support.   • Work schedules typically fall during school operation hours of 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

Paraeducator:

A Paraeducator is one who fills in for non-teaching positions within the district and performs a variety of instructional support duties to assist the school and teachers with instruction, supervision and education of students in a regular education classroom, one-on-one, as well as resource room settings. This position does not require a TSPC license.   • Work schedules typically fall during school instructional hours of 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. 
  • Actual work schedules depend on the school, student, and/or class, which can vary.  

Custodian:

A school custodian plays an essential role in maintaining the building and supporting a learning environment that promotes health, attitude and pride of students. In addition to regular building maintenance functions, a school custodian provides direct support to classroom teachers in a set up and maintenance of furniture and equipment. A school custodian also serves as a role model for students by displaying a professional, courteous and helpful nature.   • Work schedules typically fall in the afternoon to evening hours between 2:00 pm - 12:00 am (midnight).

After-School CARE Professional:

This position is a support role for the (CARE) Community After-School Relationship Enrichment Program. A CARE Program Progressional plan, organize, and supervise activities designed to meet the physical, emotional, and intellectual needs, and to assure the care and safety of children enrolled in the extended day program.   • Position provides supervised activities for students during non-school hours, performing duties to support student social development.
  • Work schedule typically between 2:00pm - 6:00pm.

Nutrition Service Assistant:

A Nutrition Service Assistant supports the kitchen manager, kitchen lead, or cooks in the performance of a variety of tasks, including: food storage, preparation, serving, cleaning-up, POS (point of sale) meal/sales accounting, following recipes, and completing production records. Nutrition Service Assistants follow meal programming nutritional and food safety guidelines as established by Federal-USDA, State and District Mandates.   • Work schedules are varying shifts and jobs can be at any school in the district.  
  • Work hours fall during the morning and into the afternoon, typically 2-6 hours shifts.

 

School Bus Route and Trip Drivers:

This position serves as a temporary placement for new bus drivers in training and trip drivers. Trainees will have the opportunity to learn to safely operate all school buses under all types of weather conditions, including, but not limited to fog, rain, sleet, snow, and ice. Responsibilities will include safely transporting students and other authorized persons over regular "to and from school" routes, and on field, co-curricular, and special or extra activity trips as authorized by the school district officials. The trainee is expected to interact in a positive, professional manner with students, parents, the public, and school authorities.   • Work schedule will vary and work late into the evening to accommodate after-school activities. 
  • Positions require FMCSA and DOT regulated medical clearance and Class B Commercial Drivers Licenses.
  • Fees are reimbursable after training.
