April/May 2022

The North Clackamas School Board provided feedback on the draft Strategic Plan mission, vision, values and goals at the April 28 board meeting. Staff incorporated feedback received by the Board into a revised draft.
The North Clackamas School Board unanimously approved the new Strategic Plan at its May 12, 2022 board meeting.

Stakeholder feedback on a second survey was sought in early March and was reviewedCommunity members who participated in the fall discovery sessions were asked to provide feedback and prioritize the themes from the initial survey in the fall. Additionally, the survey asked respondents to provide feedback on the draft core values list.

A draft of the mission, vision, values, and goals was scheduled to be presented to the School Board on April 28.

January/February 2022

Strategic Plan Development - January/February 2022

With much gratitude to students, staff, parents, and other community members for strong engagement, the initial rounds of stakeholder input gathering have been completed. A report is being developed outlining the input and feedback themes.

Throughout January and February, staff will review the stakeholder input and develop initial drafts of future strategic areas of focus, district mission, district vision and district values. The school board is scheduled to receive a report and participate in a discussion on the topic on January 27, 2022.
Initial drafts of key future strategies will be shared with the community in late February/early March, surveys will be conducted and all feedback will be reviewed.

October/November/December 2021

All members of the North Clackamas Community were invited to share their experiences and their hopes and dreams for the school district here: (Link now closed)

Following the completion of the community survey and the discovery sessions held earlier in October, staff will analyze all information gathered during the discovery phase to identify an initial set of priorities moving forward.

These initial priorities will be shared with the North Clackamas School Board and the community in December/January. Community members will be asked to provide feedback on the initial strategic plan components at that time.

October 2021

Since starting the strategic planning process the following actions have taken place:

multi-lingual strategic planning website launched
messaging about strategic planning circulated broadly among stakeholders in multiple languages
initial list of documents to review assembled as part of the district’s environmental scan
discovery focus group facilitation training held for culturally specific focus group facilitators
visioning session held with the NCSD Executive Administrative team
draft staff, parent and community survey developed and translated for circulation in late October
eighteen discovery focus groups with representatives from a variety of student, parent, staff, community, and business groups scheduled in October

On October 14, 2021, the school board is scheduled to receive an update on the strategic planning process and two presentations that will inform the new Strategic Plan:

A report based on what student’s have shared about their experiences in North Clackamas Schools. This will focus on Youth Truth data gathered from students in Spring 2021.
A presentation focused on future workforce needs entitled “Future Ready Clackamas.” The presenters will be from Clackamas Workforce Partnership.

A survey will be launched during the last week of October to gather information about what parents, staff, community leaders, business leaders and others in the community see as strengths, challenges and future opportunities for the school district. The survey link will be added here during the last week of October.

August/September 2021

Every organization needs a map to advance from where it is now to where it wants to be in the future. North Clackamas School District’s map is its District Strategic Plan. The district’s Mission, Strategic Direction, Goals and Objectives are key components of the Strategic Plan.

North Clackamas School District last underwent a Strategic Planning process in the 2017-2018 school year and the current Strategic Plan is in place through the end of the current school year. A three-phase process has been designed to develop the next Strategic Plan over the course of the 2021-2022 school year.
