Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development

The Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development Department supports the Mission and Vision of the North Clackamas School District by providing high-quality professional development, curriculum, guidance, and instructional tools grounded in educational research and supportive of diverse learners. This intentional alignment, achieved by incorporating curriculum and instruction, as well as services for English language learners and students with disabilities, cultivates an environment where every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
Ensuring a comprehensive approach to instruction and student support, the Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development Department has identified five outcomes aligned to the North Clackamas School District's Strategic Plan:
- System-wide guidance, models, tools, and materials are utilized for each subject area
- High Impact (HI) 5 strategies are utilized across subjects: Collaborative Learning, Feedback, Student Goal Setting, Metacognition, Student Expectations
- Responsive and differentiated professional learning and coaching are focused on inclusion and increasing outcomes for all students
- School and district teams use data to inform instructional decision-making
- Each student's academic and behavioral needs are supported in the least restrictive environment
