North Clackamas School District offers families a number of special choice programs. Some are Magnet Programs, which are designed for NCSD students, and some are Charter Schools, which are open to students throughout the region. Click below to discover the options at each level.

Elementary Options
Magnet Programs
Our magnet programs are open to any student who lives in the North Clackamas District. Each has a specialized application and lottery process, so please visit those pages for further information. Transportation will be provided.
Dual Language Immersion (K-5, feeds to 6-8)
Dual Language Immersion Programs-The goals of dual language immersion programs are to develop bilingualism, biliteracy, academic achievement, and cross-cultural competencies for all students.

Charter Schools
Our district-sponsored charter schools are open to any student who lives in the Portland metro. Families must provide transportation.
Cascade Heights Public Charter School (K-8)
The mission of Cascade Heights Public Charter School is to inspire the social, emotional, academic, physical, personal, and ethical growth of children, to prepare them to be members of a global society, and to partner with parents who share the same mission.

CWA provides instruction to students in Oregon through an innovative combination of online curriculum, onsite classes, labs, tutoring, activities and access to college classes. Our mission is to honor and support the cultures, values, and goals of all students while challenging and empowering them to reach their full potential.

Middle School Options
Magnet Programs

Dual Language Immersion (6-8)
Students from the Riverside Elementary and Milwaukie El Puente Elementary Dual Language Immersion programs have the option to continue their studies in Spanish at Alder Creek Middle School. Students in the Dual Language Immersion Program attend 3 of 10 periods of instruction in Spanish. The classes offered in Spanish are Language Arts and Social Studies. These classes are aligned to the content standards for the grade level while improving students’ abilities to read, write, and speak in Spanish. Latino culture and history are integrated into instruction.
Occasionally, a student who moves into the district and has some proficiency in Spanish may test into the middle school level of the program. Visit the site below and contact program administrators for more information.

New Urban High School (9-12)
New Urban strives to provide relevant and challenging educational opportunities and life skills within a caring and positive school climate by developing strong relationships. Our students choose to take part in an innovative and unique educational experience that offers them a chance to be productive citizens of their community.

Charter Schools
Our district-sponsored charter schools are open to any students living in the Portland metro area. If a student lives in NCSD, transportation will be provided. If they live outside of NCSD, families must provide transportation.
Clackamas Web Academy (K-12)
CWA provides instruction to students in Oregon through an innovative combination of online curriculum, onsite classes, labs, tutoring, activities and access to college classes. Our mission is to honor and support the cultures, values, and goals of all students while challenging and empowering them to reach their full potential. Note: all families must provide their own transportation to optional, on-site activities.

Clackamas Middle College (9-12)
Clackamas Middle College provides an inclusive, innovative and challenging personalized education that cultivates and prepares independent learners for college and careers. Students may have the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school, by taking classes at Clackamas Community College.

Milwaukie Academy of the Arts (9-12)
Embedded within Milwaukie High School, Milwaukie Academy of the Arts integrates the performing and visual arts throughout a rigorous core academic curriculum in a nurturing environment.
