Transferring INTO North Clackamas Schools
On April 14th, the North Clackamas School Board approved openings for Interdistrict Transfers for the 2022-23 school year. The timeline for these transfers is as follows:
- April 15th- May 5th, initial applications open
- May 5th at midnight, initial application window closes
- Week of May 8th, if number of applications exceeds number of slots, lottery is held
- Week of May 8th, families notified
- May 15th and beyond, slots remaining will be awarded on a first come, first-served basis
Applications to transfer into an NCSD school with approved openings are accepted during a three-week window shortly thereafter. At the end of this window, a lottery is held to assign the slots at each school.
Any remaining slots will be awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis starting in mid-May. Families will be notified within one week of submitting an application.
Please note that you will also need to secure a release from your resident school district to complete the process of entering a North Clackamas school.
When a student is on an Interdistrict Transfer, transportation is the responsibility of the family. Also, it is important to note that admission of one student in a family does not guarantee admission for siblings.

North Clackamas School District may consider a transfer request outside of the district’s slot-based system where a hardship exists. Hardship is narrowly defined in OAR 581-021-0019(1)(c) and more information is available by contacting the Office of Enrollment Options at 503-353-6048.
Applications
For the Upcoming School Year 2023-24:
Transferring OUT of North Clackamas Schools
Every April, the school board takes action to determine whether North Clackamas School District will award a release to any family applying for an interdistrict transfer out of North Clackamas. For the 2023-24 school year, releases will be granted to all families who request one.
Families will be notified of their approval for a release within one week of submitting an application. Once a release out of NCSD has been awarded, you will still need to secure admission into your school district of choice.
If your student was released from North Clackamas School District in a previous year and enrolled in their identified school district of choice, you do not need to complete another application. Your release to the identified school district of choice is valid through graduation.
